Tutta Terra Toscana 2002

They have been two days of exciting rally, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd for rally lovers. It was the first race valid for the CIR (the Italian Rally Championship) and the CRT (Gravel Rally Challenge).
It has been raced on the hills near Buonconvento and Montalcino, nearby Siena in Tuscan region. The street conditions were not so dry on Friday, so best drivers had difficult choice for tyres. On Saturday weather conditions were not so perfect, but the tracks got drier than the previous leg and it was really a nice day for drivers and spectators both.
The race has been won by Andrea Navarra on Subaru Impreza WRC prepared by Aimont Racing. Grossi and Cantamessa were respectively second and third. Grossi drove a Ford Focus WRC used in 2001 for the World Rally Championship by Ford Motosport team.
In the pool of drivers with Super 1600 cars we saw an aggressive duel between Andreucci and Dallavilla: Andreucci was first, second Dallavilla with Citroen Saxo, the same car he is driving in the Junior Rally Championship. Gianluigi Galli was third, alhough he had to pay a penalty of two minutes for being late at a time check during the Friday's leg.
