John Siros sent me a collection of pictures of his own Punto Sporting, which
has a very interesting list of modifications:
- engine substitution: it has been equipped with the 1.6 16v engine from Fiat
Bravo
- Momo seats
- special exhaust system
- Evo 6 air infront intakes
- Brembo brake disks
John faced several troubles while
installing the Bravo engine in the Punto. Here there are his words about the attempt:
"My project 1.6 Punto sporting is not going very
well, to tell the truth is a completely breakdown....
The engine ECU of the 1.242cc engine sends some checks into the trip computer
of the car and then car ECU gives order to the engine ECU to work. Now, the 1.6
ECU from bravo doesn't work with Punto's trip computer.
Because of that, some serious functions of the car don't work at all and the car
didn't start, rpm doesn't work, water temperature is off,and even other probes.
I'm very disappointed because I had my car for three months without doing a mile...
So I will put again the 1242cc engine".
