Coppa Liburna (Saturday Apr 11th 2003)

In the Hitec sporting activities, apart the full support of Mirco Baldacci for the Junior world rally championship, and Leon Pesticcio and the same Sanmarinese driver for British championship, there is also the sporadic partecipation to other races, like the Coppa Liburna during the last weekend.
The Italian Veronese driver Luca Höelbling with the orange coloured Fiat Punto won the shortlisted Super1600 category in Tuscany in the one-leg based event, with impressive times on gravel and constantly faster than the rest of the crews with 2WD cars. Höelbling got the 10th overall position.
The event has been faced also by the Bulgarian driver Dimitar Iliev, with Peugeot 206 Super1600 by Auto Sport Italia, as interesting training for the next gravel events in the Junior world rally championship. The Bulgarian driver however didn't score quite well against Höelbling, who is namely not so well trained on gravel grounds, and he did never set better times than Höelbling's, excluded the last stage where the Veronese driver administered the one minute advantage accumulated during all the other stages of the event.
The rally, valid for the Italian Challenge Rally Terra, has been won by Pucci Grossi on Ford Focus WRC, and Andrea Navarra second with Subaru Impreza WRC.
