This information has been collected since the first days when the Italian magazines started writing about the Punto Mk2 and its strongest incarnation, the Punto HGT. The sign HGT stands for High Gran Tourism and it the natural result of what it should come after the successful Punto GT. It's worth to note that also the bigger Fiat Bravo at time had a model named HGT, equipped with an atmosferic engine of 2000 cc, 5 cylinders and 20 valves.
