This Punto GT-R belongs to Marco Cavallari, who contacted us during 1997 and told us who was going to modify his Punto GT and transform it in a special Punto GT version. The Fiat Punto GT-R has been prepared by Pino Corse, in Bologna, Italy. The car has been prepared in order to be shown in several Car Expos and to run on some race tracks in Italy.

I haven't the precise numbers of the performance in 0-100 kmh test, but with dry ground, the first, the second and the third gear let me spin the wheels very much. A traction control system could help dramatically the grip, but it costs about 1.500 Euros...

From stationary, those cars gain about one car length, because my Punto GT-R tries to go, but it goes on spinning a lot, while they have permanent traction and they can transfer the whole power to the ground. But from middle speed I recatch them and overtake them, because my A-cams distribution pushes very hard upto 7.500 rpm, the uplimit of my engine...
