Targa Florio 2002

Any forecast about the final victory was undoubtly for Renato Travaglia and his Peugeot 206 WRC, but a gear shaft failure prevented him from getting the third victory in the Italian championship.
This issue made the sicilian Riolo get the first position with Peugeot 306 Maxi. The real fight has been seen just behind in the Super 1600, where Longhi was able to drive a fantastic Renault Clio and get the third place, just after Paolo Andreucci's Fiat Punto. Dallavilla tried to pace against Longhi for the whole two days, but he had not a lot of luck. Gianluigi Galli and Luca Pedersoli complete the first six places.

The final classification of Targa Florio: 1 Riolo (Peugeot 306 Maxi), 2 Andreucci (Fiat Punto Super 1600), 3 Longhi (Renault Clio Super 1600), 4 Dallavilla (Citroen Saxo Super 1600), 5 Galli (Fiat Punto Super 1600), 6 Pedersoli (Fiat Punto Super 1600).
