Ciocco 2002

The Rally of Ciocco had the subscription of the highest number of the Punto Rally for a rally. They were ten, although Luca Cantamessa didn't start on Friday morning. The absolute victory has been got by Renato Travaglia with the Peugeot 206 WRC. The battle for that victory was not interesting, as it is going to be the the CIR 2002 Italian season, because only one official team is challenging with a WRC car.
The real engage was seen in the Super 1600 category, because more than a dozen of cars is really challenging to determining the best driver and the best car too. Dallavilla, with Vieffe Motorsport's Citroen Saxo, and Andreucci, with the Procar's Punto Rally, battled a lot for two days, although Andreucci was disadvantaged by a puncture during Friday and this didn't let him to be really near to Dallavilla cumulative time during Saturday leg. Galli and Pedersoli, with Punto Rally cars, had good times during the legs and it let them go up in the final standing.
The final classification: 1 Travaglia (Peugeot 206 WRC), 2 Bandieri (Ford Focus WRC), 3 Dallavilla (Citroen Saxo), 4 Andreucci (Fiat Punto Rally), 5 Galli (Fiat Punto Rally), 6 Dati (Subaru Impreza Gr.N).
